We’re looking for an experienced skipper to work with our team on the Isle of Skye, who is responsible for our workboat site vessel - MV Shelagh Jane. You’ll need to be commercially endorsed to the level of a Coastal Skipper. Rotational working is available.
We offer an excellent financial package depending on experience, with a salary of £34,500 to £40,500, plus a relocation package or accomodation if required.
You’ll be a senior member within our team, and experience in the aquaculture industry will be a real advantage to you. You’ll be key in supporting the site manager with all aspects of the daily on-site operations, to achieve the highest fish and team welfare. You will be responsible for the safety and security of the vessel and her crew.
The maintenance and performance of the vessel will be under your control, you will be supported by our team onshore, to ensure that the vessel is compliant to the Workboat Code, all equipment is maintained and serviced regularly.
Our site at Loch Pooltiel is in an area of exceptional beauty, near to the famous Neist Point Lighthouse in North West Skye. We’re part of a very active local community, through the villages of Glendale and Dunvegan, and you will be part of a close-knit and supportive team.
A full driving licence is essential. Candidates with further education in aquaculture or equivalent occupations will be at an advantage.

Requirements
- Proven qualities in teamwork, commitment, attention to detail, fish husbandry, and general operational success
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in aquaculture production operations
- Further education (HND or above) in aquaculture related subject, or equivalent occupational qualifications
- High level of Health & Safety Awareness
- Good verbal communication
