Situated just 400 miles south of the Arctic Circle, Shetland enjoys long, light summer nights and winter skies filled with the beauty of the northern lights. And, while storms can make for dramatic weather, we often enjoy surprisingly mild winters.
We have a strong history of welcoming people and cultures from across the globe and this is as evident today as it is from the islands' rich archaeology. Over the last 30 years, however, Shetland has undergone some major economic and social changes, which we're committed to managing.
