As a Modern Apprentice Electrician you will be supported to gain the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities to become a qualified electrician providing an effective repairs and planned maintenance service to council housing and buildings.

The apprenticeship will last for four years, to enable you to complete an appropriate electrical qualification - SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations.

  • The grade of this post is SLGLW/AB1/AB2/C2
  • Salary shown in the advert is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £2,742 per annum (pro rata)
  • Apprenticeship Full Time post for 37.0 Hours per Week , 52.18 weeks per year
  • A relocation package does not apply to this post
  • We will pay interview expenses from within Shetland 
  • You must have the ability to travel throughout Shetland at short notice and where public transport is limited
  • We are happy to talk flexible working
