Job Description

JOB TITLE: Senior Design Researcher
SALARY: £68,202 - £75,780

LOCATION(S): London or Edinburgh

HOURS: Full-Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least

two days per week, or 40% of our time in the office.


About this opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Design Researcher to join the Experience Innovation team at Lloyds Banking Group.

 

This is a very exciting opportunity for anyone interested in research and innovation and would like to bring that interest and passion to their everyday work life. We're looking for someone who is confident in their craft and flexible in their approach, who is comfortable navigating the unknown and can bring lots of experience in different research methods and stakeholder management, to hit the ground running. 

As part of this team, you'll be immersed in and working with multiple-disciplinary colleagues, Data team, Behavioural Scientists, Creative Technologists, Service and Product Designer, Product Owners, at the bank.

 

It will be your role to:

  • Work with senior managers and stakeholders at the Group to help elicit and capture business visions and identify research gaps amongst a sea of reports and data.

  • Work in a multiple-disciplinary colleagues to identify research questions, and help create and run research and experiments that assist decision making in support of those business visions.

  • Analyse and report on findings, with recommendations.

  • Ensure design, technology and business thinking is in all the work the team produces.

  • Nurture a culture of inclusion, diversity, collaboration and co-creation.

 

What you'll need

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience in design research, including ethnographic and longitudinal studies quantitative and qualitative

  • Confidence in your craft as a researcher; can hit the ground running

  • Display vast experience in different research methods; ability to work on own initiative

  • Be flexible in your approach; ability to navigate the unknown

  • Be a skilled and experienced stakeholder manager; working across multiple business units

  • Strategic approach to user research, with experience in considering business, technology and customer needs and aspirations together.

  • solid experience in developing research briefs, conducting user research, analysing existing insights.

  • Comfortable with statistical techniques to help analysis and interpretation; and working with a data team to uncover gaps.

  • Strong communication skills to work across a range of situations and audiences.

  • Knowledge of innovation, zero to one, JTBD.
