A Carpenter / Boat Builder is required to join our small but busy team at Mallaig Boatyard Ltd, Corpach Slipway. The Boatyard provides repair and maintenance services to fishing, passenger and aquaculture vessels up and down the West Coast of Scotland.
Operating from our new yard and slipway at Corpach, we look to extend our workforce, seeking individuals to join our team, with our new facility providing the ability to expand the business.
The position is offered on a full time permanent basis, minimum 40 hours per week, 08:30-17:00, Monday to Friday, with the ability to work overtime.
We are seeking an experienced Carpenter / Boat Builder to join our team. You will be responsible for repairing and fabricating various structures according to specifications, ensuring high standards of quality and safety are met.
The successful applicant should also:
· Have recognised qualifications in carpentry,
· Have previous experience as a carpenter/boat builder (knowledge of boats would be advantageous),
· Be able to operate hand tools and machinery relevant to the role,
· To be able to read and interpret instruction,
· Excellent attention to detail,
· Liaise proactively with providers, colleagues and management,
· Self-motivated, working with minimal supervision,
· To be able to work independently and as part of a team,
· Excellent timekeeping and work ethic,
· Full UK driving licence,

· Car sharing / transport available if travelling from Mallaig.
