Job Description

To assist in the provision of a comprehensive Human Resources Support and Advisory Service. The role will include providing advice on various subjects to other Departments and involve some project work related to making a contribution to the development of policies and procedures.

 

Requirements

Assist in the provision of a comprehensive Human Resources Advisory Service

Assess grading claims and provide advice on organisational development

Assist with the provision of Human Resources Administrative Support

Assist in developing employment policies and practices

 

The Individual

Experience in a generalist human resources role, with experience/knowledge of:

• Industrial relations problems

• Advising on and attending disciplinary hearings and investigations

• Preparation of contracts of employment and provision of advice on conditions of service issues

• Advising managers and employees

Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent

Graduate member of CIPD

Understanding of current human resources and local authority issues

Knowledge of trade union consultation

Ability to work using initiative and common sense and to take balanced decisions when necessary

Ability to remain impartial and stand own ground

Excellent communication and presentation skills – verbal and written

Knowledge of human resources policies and legislation and ability to relate it to practical issues

Ability to gain trust of managers

Ability to work accurately and to accept responsibility

Sound knowledge of good practice and ability to give constructive advice under pressure

Outgoing, positive personality

Ability to give presentations

Confident, mature approach

Must respect confidentiality

Ability to relate to people at all levels.

Starting Salary: £32,176*

£17.07 per hour

36.25 hours per week

Post 2

Starting Salary: £32,176* pro rata

£17.07 per hour

16.92 hours per week
