Job Description
To provide a mailroom service, process cheque payments received and other associated administrative tasks.
Requirements
To provide a mailroom service to the Council
To provide a van mail delivery service to outlying Council facilities
To administer cheques and bulk cash.
To undertake general clerical duties when required to do so.
The Individual
Ability to communicate with people at all levels
Willingness to accept direction/delegation
Able to lift heavy items/objects in conjunction with moving and handling regulations
Ability to work in an open plan office
Flexibility to meet the needs and demands of the service
Ability to work in different offices dependent on service requirements
Clerical experience
Experience of working in a busy office environment using relevant technology e.g. photocopier, E-mail, Intra/Internet and scanning equipment4 ‘ SQA/Standard Grades or equivalent at level 3 or above including Maths/arithmetic and English
High level of accuracy in work
Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to effective team working.
Effective Keyboard skills.
Effective organisational skills including time management
Strong customer care skills and focus
Self-confident and Self-motivated
Confident driver with a full and current driving licence for a manual vehicle.
Ability to undertake basic vehicle checks
Flexibility and adaptability in a range of duties
Appreciation and acceptance of, and commitment to, the importance of confidentiality
Provide cover at Reception desk as and when required
Closing Date : 24 May 2024
Starting Salary £23166.65
£12.29 per hour
36.25 Hours per week (Mon - Fri 8:45am - 5:00pm)
