Operations Support Manager

Hosted by Health & Social Care Moray on behalf of Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City HSCPs, the Out Of Hours Primary Care Service (GMED) provides urgent clinical care to the population of Grampian between the hours of 18:00 – 08:00 Monday to Friday and over twenty four hours Saturday and Sunday and Public Holidays.

GMED is one of the most challenging and complex parts of the healthcare system.  The service employs over 400 medical, clinical and support staff who support the delivery of the out of hours care. GMED teams operate from 8 locations across the Grampian region supported by the Dispatching Hub in Aberdeen. GMED’s clinical activity is supported by the in-hours Business Support and Service Management Team. This team is responsible for rota management, quality and risk management, liaising with stakeholders, logistics, supply chain and operational support.

GMED works in partnership with a host of other health and social care services, such as: OOH Nursing, NHS 24, H@H, Labs, Emergency Departments, SAS, Public Health, Police Scotland, General Practice and Primary Care Services, Care Homes and Social Work.

As the Operations Support Manager you will play a key role in the delivery of efficient and effective operations of the service. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and continuously seeking opportunities for improvement. This role will play an integral part in supporting the Health and Social Care Partnerships in transforming urgent care and the way in which it is delivered across the region.

This post is based in Aberdeen Health Village. Driving licence is an essential requirement as the postholder is expected to travel to various locations across Grampian.
