We are currently seeking to recruit a Facilities Assistant to join our team at Caithness General Hospital.
This post will be based in Caithness General Hospital; however the role also includes providing domestic services to our accommodation buildings located within Wick
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high standards of service and cleanliness are maintained in line with local infection control policies, Covid 19 guidance and maintaining compliance with the NHS Scotland National Cleaning Services Specification, and Waste Regulations while meeting specified cleaning schedules, and promoting and maintaining high standards of cleanliness within the environment.
The role also provides cover for both Catering duties including regeneration of meals, preparation of salads, sandwiches, snacks and also specified Laundry Services meeting the standards of NHS Scotland National Cleaning Services Specifications.
This is a permanent part time post of 24.7 hours covering Monday to Friday working 10.00-15.00 or as per service requirements.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
