Come and join The Highland Soap Co! We are looking for a full-time SOAP MIXOLOGIST to mix the ingredients and essential oils that make up our soap and skincare products before they are bottled and labelled.

We are looking to employ a full time SOAP MIXOLOGIST at The Highland Soap Company workshop on a permanent, full-time basis.

Making soap is not unlike cooking or baking so we welcome applicants who come from the hospitality industry as well as from manufacturing backgrounds. 

What do Soap Mixologists do?

BATCH MAKING – we have 180 products and this role involves carefully mixing batches of oils and essential oils as per stock system requirements, before the products are labelled and bottled. This is an important role and requires care and concentration.

MACHINE OPERATING

We have a new filling and bottling line that is quite a technical piece of equipment. You would be trained how to operate it and how to change the set-up between batches.

COLD PROCESS SOAP MAKING – you will be part of the team responsible for manufacturing of cold process soap. This is a technical process that requires skill and practice. In addition to the manufacturing of soap, your role will be to ensure the correct soap is made when required, correct PPE is used, risk assessment and safe system of work (SSOW) is always followed. Maintain stock control for this department by doing weekly stock takes on base products and components.

The role will report to the factory manager.

Requirements

You will be required to work 5 days, 8-hour shifts for a full time role. 

We are looking for someone who is reliable, precise and organised with the following attributes:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task and work under pressure
  • Good physical stamina
