To provide a Ranger service within the Sutherland area, to act as the eyes and ears for various Council services and to work in co-operation with other organisations, landowners and communities.
The job will cover sites owned and/or managed by the Council and other partners, to promote the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
The key role is working with visitors and residents to encourage responsible outdoor access.
You will work weekends and some evenings within a 35 hour working week.
A vehicle will be provided for patrolling the assigned area only, but there will be no office base.
Post holders need to be adaptable and flexible with the job description as we need to be reactive to changes in visitor use through the season as well as our partner organisations level of engagement.
