NHS Ayrshire & Arran is seeking to recruit 1 dynamic and enthusiastic Full-time speciality Doctor General Adult Psychiatrist (with options for flexible / compressed hours) to join the South Ayrshire Community Mental Health Team based at the Ailsa Hospital, Ayr. The successful applicant will join 4.0 General Adult Consultants working flexibly in South Ayrshire, covering in-patient (75%) and community (25%) clinical work.
The role will be supported for CESR application or research should the candidate wish.
South Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership has a well-established, Community Mental Health Team supported by a 24 hour Crisis Service and daily duty service from 10am – 7pm.
The post is well supported, within a friendly and dynamic team. The role is predominantly in-patient to support the General Adult Consultants with also community based support (approximately two clinics per week). The will be support for service development if this is of interest and opportunities also for special interest.
The Terms and Conditions of service are those determined by the speciality Doctor Contract and the post is offered on a 10 programmed activity basis (with options for additional session where appropriate). The workload will be reviewed regularly to ensure manageable and equitable distribution of cases.
Appropriately experienced applicants must have Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice. Section 22 approval under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 is desirable and can be applied for if absent. The post involves travel as Inpatient and Community bases differ and a full driving licence is essential.
