Position

An opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable Team Leader based at Ailsa Hospital.

What you will do:

You will take delegated day-to-day management responsibility to support the Payment/Support functions of the Accounts Payable department to ensure the following key result areas are achieved:

  1. All incoming documentation is recorded electronically/manually in accordance with Operational Procedures.
  2. Ensure that invoices are processed timeously to comply with the CBI prompt payment code.

You will also provide management support to the Accounts Payable Manager in the daily operation of the Accounts Payable Function. You will take delegated responsibility for management to ensure that the Board meets its statutory responsibilities associated with the payment of contractors. You will also be expected to provide Financial Guidance to NHS Managers, Staff and Suppliers in the development of Best Practice.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You should have extensive experience within financial services preferably within a healthcare environment. You will be required to develop and maintain a high knowledge of the Boards Standing Financial Instructions, Policies and Operating Procedures and be able to interpret and apply them operationally. A sound up to date knowledge of legislative matters, particularly surrounding VAT and Construction Industry Tax is essential to ensure Board compliance at all times. You will be required to be flexible and show leadership and initiative to effectively prioritise workloads within Accounts Payable, while working to achieve set targets. You should have the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with all grades of staff including senior managers and directors, regarding financial matters within the NHS and with contractors and external organisations.

Hours: 37 per week.
