You will be responsible for Aggreko Energy Services (AES) engagement with the wider energy industry, focusing on dynamic subjects such as the industry's transition to Net Zero and the Review of Electricity Market Arrangements (REMA).

Your knowledge and insight will put AES at the cutting edge of GB energy market policy and regulation - this insight will enable the wider development and commercial teams to tailor the strategy and pipeline to account for the risks and opportunities presented by the changing energy policy landscape, but more importantly influence the outcomes to ensure a smooth transition to Net Zero, through the latest REMA reforms and beyond.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include identifying, assessing, and prioritising significant industry changes that will impact AES’ operational, commercial and strategic objectives.

  • Identify, assess and priortise significant industry changes that will impact AES
  • Work closely with the commercial and development teams to ensure future changes are taken into account when modelling/operating/acquiring/developing assets
  • Respond to all relevant consultations and proactively engage key stakeholders such as Ofgem, DESNZ, Low Carbon Contracts Company and the Delivery Body
  • Work with trade associations to keep up to speed with wider industry thinking/views and feed in AES’ position, to which you will be integral to forming.
  • Attend relevant workshops and conferences

Key performance indicators

  • High quality consultation responses, produced and submitted ahead of time having been considered by the AES management team
  • Strong relationships with governing and industry bodies
  • Develop and maintain systems to ensure key sensitives/assumptions are captured in all Power Purchase Agreements (PPA)/investment modelling
  • Monthly reporting to management team on latest industry changes, including suggested positions to be adopted by Aggreko

Location: Remote based, must be willing to travel in UK (notably London) and European trips as required

What we’re looking for

  • Adequate experience in a policy, regulation or compliance energy team.
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • A strong communicator capable of expressing view both internally and externally, including challenging others when necessary
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Strong interest in current affairs
  • Logical and methodological approach to problem solving via policy/regulation
