The Uig Development Trust (UDT) is seeking to recruit a development officer to drive forward our business unit development project. Further information about UDT can be gleamed from our website www.uigdevelopmenttrust.org.uk This is a 12-month funded post and we are seeking an energetic, committed and self-motivated person.
Main duties and responsibilities
Liaise with relevant agencies, professionals, stakeholders, wider community and others to support the delivery of the project
Identify funding sources and complete funding applications as necessary.
Oversee project delivery, including awarding of contracts and budget management.
Any other task to further the aims and objectives of The Uig Development Trust
Requirements
Essential and Desirable Criteria
The post requires a broad range of skills and attributes which are detailed below. The successful candidate will be expected to meet all the essential criteria and at least some of the desirable criteria.
Essential Criteria
Ability to build strong relationships and develop trust, whilst working collaboratively with a wide range of people, organisations and agencies.
Educated to an appropriate level (undergraduate degree or above) or have equivalent work experience.
Be self-motivated, self-reliant and reliable, able to work independently but also with UDT trustees and members
Have an interest and commitment to community development
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
A high level of organisational, verbal, written and financial skills.
Desirable Criteria
Be based locally or have the ability to travel here as often as required.
Previous experience in a community-based project, preferably in a rural location.
Understanding of challenges faced by rural communities.
Familiarity of social media platforms and experience of basic website maintenance.
